Vernon Armitage
Senior Pastor
Vernon Armitage has been pastor of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church since 1969. A native of Chestnut Ridge, Mo., a small community near Branson, Vernon is a graduate of Southwest Baptist University, Bolivar, Mo., and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Kansas City.
He has led conferences across the nation and taught classes at William Jewell College in Liberty and Midwestern Seminary and Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in Mill Valley, Calif. An author of several articles on church growth, Vernon published his first book, "Living Life to the Max" (Barbour Publishing, 2004). It is based on the book of Proverbs.
Vernon and his wife, Charlene, have toured 13 nations around the world, visiting international mission work. They have ministered in Indonesia and Thailand and have led Pleasant Valley to be actively involved in missions in Southeast Asia.
He and Charlene, who is director of equipping ministry for the church, have two grown children, Kelly and Timothy, and three grandsons, Logan, Noah and Crosby.
