Psalm 37:1-7
Do not be agitated by evildoers;
do not envy those who do wrong.
2 For they wither quickly like grass
and wilt like tender green plants.
3 Trust in the Lord and do what is good;
dwell in the land and live securely.,
4 Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you your heart’s desires.
5 Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him, and he will act,
6 making your righteousness shine like the dawn,
your justice like the noonday.
7 Be silent before the Lord and wait expectantly for him;
do not be agitated by one who prospers in his way,
by the person who carries out evil plans.
God draws a stark contrast between His people and the relationship they enjoy with Him and those in the world who live for themselves and seek evil intents. Our Lord encourages us to trust in Him, do good and live securely. Living in relationship with Him brings us joy and satisfies our hearts as we pursue living in God’s ways. He makes His people shine like lights in a dark and dangerous world. We will never blend in with the world around us for He has made us to stand out in righteousness and justice.
Pray:
- Thank God that you belong to Him and tell Him again today the ways you are trusting in Him.
- Thank God for the ways He satisfies your soul.
- Ask that His goodness, righteousness and justice would shine through your life today.
