2 Peter 1:1-4
Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ,
To those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours:
2 Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.
3 His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
Through Christ Jesus, we have entered into a lavish relationship with the deity of the universe. Nothing is withheld from you so you may experience the godly life you have been called to. This lavish lifestyle is founded on a promise of divine participation that will strengthen our resolve to overcome every evil corruption we could ever experience.
Pray:
Father, In humility I bow my heart and mind to your divine presence. I thank you for the extraordinary relationship that I can experience with you. I praise you for your divine power that has given me everything I need to live as a child of yours. May my life bring you the glory that you deserve and demonstrate the goodness of your character that is the evidence of your promise that overcomes every evil I encounter today. Amen.
