Ps 27:4-6

One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.

For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.

Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me; at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the Lord.

Let the Lord be the first and primary thing you seek today.  To seek after God is to set our hearts desire on him and the things that are important to him.  To be with him as David longed to be with God in his temple.  The temple didn’t exist in David’s day, but David looked forward to being in God’s holy presence in all of that grandeur.  Whether David was in the Tabernacle tent or on the side of a mountain or the heat of a battle with his enemies, he was never far from God’s presence and he was quick to look to him with praise.

Pray:

Thank you Father for the gift of your presence.  Help me to seek after you with all my attention as I go through my day.  May I long for you nearness and experience the strength of your protection.  Father you lift me up and give me perspective to see the reality of my day in the light of your truth.  Thank you Father for being my God may my life be a song of praise to you today.  Amen.
