2 Pet 1:12-15

12 So I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have. 13 I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of this body, 14 because I know that I will soon put it aside, as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me. 15 And I will make every effort to see that after my departure you will always be able to remember these things for the person of peace will have a future.

Peter reminds us that our lives are like a vapor but in the days we have God’s truth will sustain us in every afront of evil we will face.  We must remind one another of the truth of who we are in the strength of God’s goodness and character that He is forming in each of us.  Regardless of how long any of us have walked with Christ, we too easily can lose focus on the good work He is accomplishing in us and the eternal hope that we have.

Pray

Father, Thank you for your divine nature and the good work you desire to form in me and all who call you Lord.  May your qualities live in me today so I may demonstrate your presence in the world and be your hands and feet of love.  Help me see the spiritual work you are accomplishing and be the encouragement to others of your great hope.  Amen.
