1 Peter 2:4-8
4 As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him—5 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house c to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6 For in Scripture it says:
“See, I lay a stone in Zion,
a chosen and precious cornerstone,
and the one who trusts in him
will never be put to shame.” g
7 Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe,
“The stone the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone,” j
“A stone that causes people to stumble
and a rock that makes them fall.” k
God makes us ‘at home’ with one another by building us into a holy people where Jesus is our Cornerstone. He loves us so much that he would never leave us to be alone, and he also gives us one another to enjoy life with. He is building us into a beautiful expression of life in his kingdom where we minister to one another and are precious to God Himself. What a joy it is to be part of His glorious family.
Lord, thank you for the privilege of being able to come before you in the name of your Son Jesus. Thank you for choosing me and calling me precious in your site. Thank you for building me into the spiritual home of your family. Help me to be a blessing to my church family and that my place of service would bring you honor. For the sake of your Son, Jesus, Amen.
