Ps 27:13-14
13 I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
14 Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.
What a great promise, to “see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living”. Sometimes it is so difficult to “see” where God is working and what he is doing. This promise gives us confidence that not only is he at work, but he is also not trying to keep his activity a secret. Confidence comes when what I have been waiting for is finally revealed, but until then we must wait. Waiting can be so hard, especially when the stakes seem so high, but as we wait for the Lord, we are gaining strength in our confidence that will be realized. When we wait for him we have the assurance we will see his goodness.

Father, Sometimes, I have to admit, it is hard to see where you are and what you’re unto. But, Father, I know you are good and you know that it is in my waiting that I grow in strength in my trust of you. So, I thank you that you are making me stronger in my faith by allowing me to wait to see your goodness in my life. Until then, I wait, trusting that you are indeed good and I look forward to seeing the trust you are building in me. Amen.
