Is 55:8–11
8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
and your ways are not my ways.”
This is the Lord’s declaration.
9 “For as heaven is higher than earth,
so my ways are higher than your ways,
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10 For just as rain and snow fall from heaven
and do not return there
without saturating the earth
and making it germinate and sprout,
and providing seed to sow
and food to eat,
11 so my word that comes from my mouth
will not return to me empty,
but it will accomplish what I please
and will prosper in what I send it to do.”
God is completely different from us. Our motives and desires are nothing like His. Our wisdom and ways can never compare to the goodness of His. Everything he does He intends to be and will produce a blessing and all as the evidence of His presence in our world. His liberal grace to us must turn us from the emptiness of our endeavors to the abundance of His blessing that He generously provides through his Word. His Word will produce a fruitful harvest in our lives according to his great purposes.
Pray
– Praise God that we can turn from our sin and experience His great wisdom and ways.
- Thank God that His ways are always better than we could ever accomplish on our own.
- Thank Him that the blessings of His Word produce the abundance of His life in you.
