We’re committed to creating an environment that meets health recommendations for safety. Our weekend services have been redesigned to create a clean, touchless environment that allows physical distancing. You no longer have to save a seat to attend services in the worship center. However, we are still saving seats to attend the Chapel service at 9am due to the smaller room capacity. Wearing a face covering is now required to attend as we work together to be able to continue to gather.

Next Gen

At this time, PVKids and PVStudents will not be available on campus. We hope to meet again soon! Until then, your family will attend church together in the worship center, and we encourage you to continue participating in PVKids Online and PVStudents Online! Additional in-person events will be happening so keep an eye out for emails and posts on the latest schedule of events.

PV at Home

PV at Home Online is an ideal worship option if you’re not ready to return to the building, especially if you don’t feel well.

PV at Home Online is also a great way to invite friends to join you! Host a watch party at home and experience worship, a relevant message, and community through live chat and prayer. You will be able to watch our 9:00am service live every Sunday morning or go to www.pleasantvalley.org and watch at another time.

Let’s Work Together to Stay Healthy

What We’re Doing:

  • Staff and volunteers will be wearing masks.
  • Additional hand-sanitizing stations will be placed throughout the building.
  • PV services will be a no-contact experience, and all high-volume areas will be thoroughly sanitized between services.
  • PV Next Gen ministries will not be available on campus at this time.
  • No water fountains will be available.
  • No food or beverages will be offered.
  • No offering baskets will be passed. Instead, there will be giving boxes in the back of the worship center or you can give online
  • All seat back materials, papers, and pens will be removed.

How You Can Help:

  • For those who are in higher risk categories, not feeling well or concerned about exposure, please join us for worship at PV at Home Online.
  • We encourage you to wear a mask when you enter the building.
  • Please wash your hands and use hand sanitizer often.
  • Maintain a distance of six feet between yourself and other guests.

Be sure to ask the following questions on behalf of your entire group before saving seats for this weekend:

  • Am I showing any flu-like symptoms?

  • Have I had a fever of 100.4 or higher in the past 14 days?

  • Have I had prolonged exposure to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19?

  • Is there any medical reason why I believe I shouldn’t be around others?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, we strongly encourage you to view PV at Home Online this weekend.

All good? Let’s go ahead and save a seat.

Chapel Service 9AM

FAQ

When will Pleasant Valley reopen?

We are planning to have our first worship service in the building on Sunday, June 14, 2020 with one Sunday morning service in the Worship Center at 9:00am.

The building will remain closed with the exception of the worship service. Our next step is scheduling groups back on campus. Staff members will begin contacting group leaders soon. We are not currently scheduling meetings or events that are not ministry related.

Why do I need to save a seat?

You only need to save a seat if you want to attend service in the Chapel at 9am due to limited occupancy.

Why was June 14 selected and not earlier or later?

We waited until June 14, so we could accommodate 400 people in the worship center rather than 180 people (per Clay County Health Phase 2 guidelines).

How many people will be accommodated for worship gatherings?

We can accommodate 400 people with six foot distancing per service. Family groups will sit together, and we will keep six feet between each group. (That’s three empty seats between family groups and every other row empty).

May I sit in my usual seat?

To ensure social distancing and reduce confusion, ushers will be seating you and dismissing you by row, so you will not be able to sit in your regular spot.

What about face masks?

Staff and ministry partners will wear face masks. In accordance with the Clay County Health Department, we require everyone coming to worship to bring their mask and wear it in the building.

What other safety measures will be taken?
  • You will need to enter the building at the main entrances on the east or west side. The south entrance and the chapel entrance will be closed.
  • Access to the building will be limited to the worship center, foyer and commons.
  • All services will be a touchless experience (no hand shaking, passing of baskets, opening doors, etc)
  • No offering baskets will be passed. Instead, giving boxes will be located in the back of the worship center.
  • All seat back materials, papers and pens will be removed.
  • PVKids and PVStudents will not be open at this time.
  • All staff and volunteers will be wearing masks.
  • Additional hand-sanitizing stations will be placed throughout the building.
  • All high-volume areas will be thoroughly sanitized after each service.
  • Restrooms will be monitored so we don’t create congestion.
  • No water fountains will be available.
  • No food or beverages will be offered.
How can I prepare to attend?
  • If you’re in a high risk category, we encourage you to consider participating in worship through PV at Home.
  • If you are exhibiting any symptoms or you are not feeling well, we ask you to worship through PV at Home.
  • We highly encourage you to wear a mask at all times in the building.
  • Please wash your hands and use hand sanitizer often.
  • Maintain a distance of six feet between yourself and other guests.
  • Plan on whether you want to give your tithe through PushPay or bring your offering in an envelope to drop into the offering boxes at the back of the worship center.
  • Be patient knowing that you will have to wait to be seated or released from your seats.
  • Restroom access will be limited.
Will there be nursery, preschool, children, student ministries available during worship services?

Not at this time. We will open these at a later time as Clay County Health moves to the next steps in their safety plan.

Children must stay with their parents at all times when they are in the building.

Why are worship gatherings under an hour?

Families of all ages will now be attending worship together both in the building and at home. We know it’s hard to pay attention and keep your family engaged for much longer than that.

We also want to allow enough time to clean the worship center and common spaces when we move to multiple services.

What about Chapel and Saturday night services?

Worship services will only be held on Sunday morning in the worship center during this phase. When restrictions are lifted to a greater degree, we will consider how and when we can have additional services.

For those desiring to worship at alternative times other than the initial Sunday morning worship time(s), the services will be available online for viewing 24/7 throughout the rest of the week with specific live-streaming engagement times.

Can the building be used for small groups to meet at 6’ social distancing?

Over 50 community groups meet in the building on Sunday mornings. Due to social distancing and occupancy guidelines, we are working on a staggered schedule throughout the week that provides both a safe and excellent experience for both existing and new groups that will form during this season. Staff will be contacting leaders of groups who want to meet in the building to schedule times and rooms. We expect to begin scheduling groups in the next couple of weeks.

What options will be available for giving?

So whether we’re worshiping from home or in the building, our giving options include:

  • Giving online at www.pleasantvalley.org/give
  • Use a giving envelope to:
    • Drop your gift in the worship center boxes
    • Drop your gift in the secure drop box near the outside entrance to the Chapel
    • Mail your gift to the church office: 1600 N Route 291 Hwy, Liberty, MO 64068
